After five long years, Amma’s 2024 North American Tour began on July 4th with a busy two-day program at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, Washington. When Amma entered the hall, people’s hearts were filled with joy. Amma said: “It is all your love that brought Amma here!”
Thousands gathered from near and far in the Seattle area for Amma’s satsang, meditation, and bhajans. And then, of course, Amma’s darshan in the form of her motherly embrace.
On July 5th, Amma led her traditional Atma Puja—a ceremony in honour of the Divine Self that resides in all of Creation. As she conducted prayers for world peace, the people joined her in envisioning a brighter future for humankind and Mother Nature. Water blessed by Amma was then distributed to all present.
The light of Amma’s boundless compassion continued to shine in all as her darshan stretched past the whole day and night and ended the next morning.
During the events, several dignitaries came to greet Amma. Consul General Prakash Gupta, the first consul for the newly established Indian Consulate in Seattle, and his wife Neha, were delighted to meet her. Suresh Sharma accompanied them from the consulate. He has been a staunch supporter of Amma’s humanitarian initiatives over the decades.
Jared Nieuwenhuis, Bellevue City Council Member, extended a heartfelt welcome on behalf of the Seattle area. Adding a touch of grace to the event, Shree Saini garlanded Amma. She is the first Indian-American to win the Miss World America title. Both expressed their gratitude in receiving Amma’s unconditional love.
Amma’s next tour stop is Oakland, California.
