In a world where many transgender people continue to face exclusion, stigma, and limited opportunities, the Amrit Shakti Empowerment Center in Delhi stands as a beacon of dignity, hope, and transformation. Rooted in Amma’s vision of compassion and inclusive development, the center goes beyond vocational training—it creates a space where individuals are seen, valued, and empowered to shape their own futures. 

By combining skill development, entrepreneurship, and community support, Amrit Shakti is nurturing confidence, self-reliance, and leadership among transgender people, helping them move from the margins of society to the forefront of change.

Launched in New Delhi by Amrita University’s Centre for Women’s Empowerment & Gender Equality, the initiative addresses the social exclusion and discrimination historically faced by transgender persons. Through vocational training, leadership development, digital literacy, and life-skills education, participants gain the confidence and capabilities needed to achieve economic independence.

The participants receive training in Beauty Therapy and Self-Employed Tailoring, complemented by entrepreneurship, leadership, communication, and life-enrichment education. 

Graduates have formed Self-Help Groups to support each other and create pathways to self-reliance. The center also supports MSME registration, business mentorship, and collective enterprise development to strengthen long-term livelihood outcomes.

Looking ahead, the center plans to introduce advanced courses in Professional Makeup, Nail Art, and Fashion Designing, while enabling graduates to mentor future batches. Through skill empowerment, community leadership, and economic inclusion, the Amrit Shakti Empowerment Center is helping build a more equitable and compassionate society—one where every individual, regardless of gender identity, has the opportunity to thrive with dignity, purpose, and hope.
