Fifteen members of the AYUDH chapter with Amma Centre Mauritius conducted a soup kitchen for people living in a disenfranchised area. AYUDH is Embracing the World’s global youth movement made up of members from the ages of 15 to 30.

We distributed meals of rice, lentils, and vegetables to the 50 children and adults who had arrived for lunch. Most of the neighbourhood is single mothers and their children, so we especially made sure the children ate to their fill. There was also enough food for every family to take a package home.

“The AYUDH team really experienced how Amma teaches us about society’s need for love, compassion, and service. They understood first-hand how that can be expressed in a practical form by reaching out to others and how that uplifts us, too,” said Swami Yōgāmṛtānanda Puri.

Amma Centre Mauritius is located in Quatres Bornes, a township in the island country that is off the southeast coast of Africa.
