Amma and her devotees around the world are praying for the people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. As well, gatherings for world peace are taking place in the Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s centres, hospitals, and university campuses.

“Amma’s heart goes out to those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, where 26 innocent lives were tragically taken in front of their own families. The country and the world are shocked by this horrific terrorist attack. Let us pray for the peace of their souls—may they have a smooth and peaceful transition and merge into the Divine,” said Amma.

“Let us also pray for strength and solace for their loved ones, that they may find inner peace amidst this unimaginable loss. May our sincere prayers bring comfort and healing to all those affected.”

On Tuesday, at least 26 civilians were killed in a hail of gunfire, marking the deadliest terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir since 2019. The tragedy has brought tremendous grief, as the picturesque town in the Himalayas is a popular tourist destination, known for its snowcapped mountains, majestic pine forests, and serene atmosphere.
