The hall in Rijswijk, Netherlands looked like a vast sky of sparkling stars as Amma arrived for the final stop of her 2025 Europe Yatra. In a profound expression of happiness, thousands of people waved their mobile phones to express the light of her love in their lives. Amma responded with an oil lamp, creating a moment of shared radiance.

From November 24 to 25, devotees from across the continent arrived for a final embrace in Amma’s arms. It is a time when their countries face great challenges, including security threats like the Russia-Ukraine war, economic uncertainty, and managing the flow of migrants and asylum seekers.

But Amma inspired hope. A representative of the devotees in the Netherlands adorned her with a garland made of delicate paper cranes. As a global symbol of peace, it was offered to express gratitude for her tireless efforts in spreading harmony and joy across the world.

The continental journey of a Universal Mother and Guru

Amma’s reach was embodied through this sacred voyage that crossed 10 cities in eight countries over nearly 40 days. The tour’s impact will be unfathomable. She embraced tens of thousands of people, with the highest number in Aix-en-Province where more than 20,000 arrived seeking her blessings.

As well, Amma gave mantra initiation to more than 10,000 seekers who opened their hearts to receive her as their Guru. Traditionally, this essential tool for spiritual aspirants is only given after extensive trials, and the Guru then transmits a part of themselves into the disciple’s heart and accepts responsibility for their progress.

However, out of her universal love and compassion, Amma gives mantras to almost all who ask—people of all faiths and walks of life. Sometimes children as young as eight years have come to her.

And this Europe tour saw a massive call for Amma’s guidance as a spiritual master: Rijswijk, Netherlands – 412; Esher, London – 809; Brombachtal, Germany – 519; Piacenza, Italy – 1,364; Munich, Germany – 509; Chartres, France – 1,696; Aix-en-Provence, France – 1,620; Helsinki, Finland – 410; Granollers, Spain – 1,200; and Winterthur, Switzerland – 890.

To imagine this transmission of Amma’s grace is like seeing another vast sky of sparkling stars spreading across humanity.

The impact of Amma’s light was also manifest in the number of volunteers who took part in seva (selfless service) to make these programs happen—hundreds in each tour stop. In Granollers, Spain, that number reached 1500. In each location, the people worked for months to prepare every element, from venue to food to inviting people to come meet Amma.

Community leaders honour Amma’s presence

The words of the distinguished guests in Rijswijk reflected Amma’s reach in reality. She was given a heartfelt welcome by the city’s mayor, Ms Huri Sahin; the Indian Ambassador to the country, His Excellency Kumar Tuhin; and Dutch Senator, Ms Artie Ramsodit.

Mayor Husin honoured Amma’s commitment to restoring human dignity, in particular as a global leader for the equality of women and men. She expressed that Amma’s actions align closely with values she holds dearly for her municipality and in her personal life.

“This means a society in which everyone has equal opportunities, in which talent can flourish regardless of gender, is a society in which people feel safe and noticed. A society, moreover, in which violence against women is hopefully a thing of the past,” she said.

Ambassador Tuhin described Amma as someone who arrived in the Netherlands waving no flag except the flag of the human heart. In a divided world, millions, including him, have felt seen, accepted, and healed in her embrace.

“In today’s world that sometimes feels cold, hurried and disconnected, Amma reminds us of something Dutch people have always understood deeply: the value of human warmth and solidarity,” he shared.

“When Amma hugs you, you will not feel you are meeting a stranger from India but you are coming home to your own mother.”

Ms Artie Ramsodit continued to express this vision, consciously reflecting that Amma is someone who belongs to all identities. In that moment, she envisioned how Amma’s love and compassion radiate beyond Rijswijk, beyond the Netherlands.

“Ram Ram, Namaste, Salam Alaikum, Goedendag and Good Afternoon. I think it’s good to address you as part of your own identity, and I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone,” she said.

“Amma is amongst us for the 21st time, with all of you. And that is truly an embodiment of love—love for each other, for the world.”

A celebration amidst tears

It was in the early hours of November 26th as Amma’s darshan came to its final moments. Volunteers with the tour team sang and danced to a poem spontaneously composed by them:

All across the world
Over land and sea
We’ll follow you and serve
No place we’d rather be

With joy in our hearts
With love in our souls
Serving Amma’s children
Wherever she goes

We’ll setup at dawn
Stay up through the night
Witnessing her love that
Fills all hearts with Light

At 3:43am, Amma embraced the last heart to arrive, and then stood up to joyfully dance to the tribal tune of ‘Rarari Rararo’, as she had at every stop.

Upon leaving, she was met with a sea of smiles and tears. Wearing a red woolen coat, she stood in the door of her camper, surrounded by an ambience of golden light. With an enchanting look, Amma blew kisses to assure everyone she is always with all her children, everywhere.
