Amma and her devotees around the world are praying for the people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. As well, gatherings are taking place in the Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s centres, hospitals, and university campuses.
“In Bharat, a tragic terrorist attack has taken the lives of many, with some even massacred in front of their own families. Let us join together in heartfelt prayers for those who lost their lives and for strength and solace to their loved ones,” expressed Amma.
On Tuesday, at least 26 civilians were killed in a hail of gunfire, marking the deadliest militant attack in Indian-administered Kashmir since 2019. The tragedy shocked the nation, as the picturesque town in the Himalayas is a popular tourist destination, known for its snowcapped mountains, majestic pine forests, and serene atmosphere.
Though a contentious region since India and Pakistan’s partition in 1947, attacks on the general public are rare in Kashmir.
