They conducted a traditional fire ritual called a Dhanvanthari Homam at 9:30 am and recited the Sanskrit hymn Ghrta Samgrahanam. Ayurveda Day is celebrated on the birthday of Sri Dhanvantari, an ancient medical genius who divided medicine and practice into two disciplines. He nurtured Ayurveda, the Veda of life, as a science, based on principles, manifestations, conjectures, parables and apotheosis.
