Amrita Hospital, Kochi held a screening camp in the village of Sreemoolanagaram, about 25 km north-east from the hospital, as part of India’s 100-day Tuberculosis Eradication Campaign. The team conducted testing on more than 120 people, aiming for early detection and intervention.
Patients included those at high risk due to smoking, diabetes, old age, cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases. Sputum testing was also done for those at risk of tuberculosis with the help of Chovvara Government Hospital and the Ernakulam District TB Center.
The camp was held at Sreemoolanagaram Akavoor Government School and also involved collaboration with the Indian Medical Association, Central Kerala Chapter; and the National Youth Movement Against Tuberculosis. NYMAT-India actively participates in TB eradication campaigns through screening, education, and community health interventions.
