In a moment of profound love and grace, Amma lit the ceremonial lamp at the newly built shrine in honour of her parents, Sugunanandan Achan and Damayanthi Amma. She inaugurated the Smriti Mandapam on October 12, 2025 as a sacred space in Amritapuri to celebrate their lives and ideals.

Both are remembered as pillars of life in the Ashram. They saw Amma as their Guru and God and loved the ashramites as if they were their own children. They also made sure all who arrived for Amma’s darshan were cared for with food, places to rest, and compassionate ears for weary hearts.

The ceremony for the Mandapam unfolded with great joy and reverence expressed by Amma’s family members, senior sanyasis, ashram residents, neighbouring families, and local community organisations.

As part of the occasion, they joined in flower offerings and special prayers at the Mandapam. The depth of gratitude each one felt for Amma’s mother and father, through whom she came into this world, created an indescribable union of hearts.
