This documentary brings to light the rebirth of an ancient rite lost over 250 years ago. From January 18th to February 3rd, 2026, more than 2 million devotees bathed in the waters of the Bharatapuzha, Kerala’s second-longest river. Sages of age-old traditions travelled from across the country to merge in the sanctity of her waters.
With the blessings of Amma, the Mahamakham Mahotsavam became a joyful awakening of worship for nature at a point where the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine meet. People of all castes and creeds gathered on the banks in Thavanoor and Thirunnavaya, reflecting deep reverence and celebration to the river for all she gives to humankind.
