Amma’s visit for her Europe Tour 2025 radiated love and compassion to the city as thousands experienced the transformation of her embrace. A team of 1500 volunteers worked for months to prepare for the blessed event.
A large crowd in Granollers, Spain gathered to welcome Amma for her public programs from October 21 to 23. With a graceful smile upon her face, Amma reflected the happiness in their hearts upon arrival at the Palau d’Esports.
“For Granollers it is an honour to receive you with open arms. Thank you Amma for bringing some peace to our lives,” said Alba Barnusell, the city’s mayor.
Teresa Viejo, journalist, writer, and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, also honoured Amma’s visit to Spain. She captured the essence of Amma’s darshan.
“There isn’t a single word that defines what Amma does for humanity. It’s not generosity—it’s much more than that, more than solidarity, more than empathy, more than help, much more than listening,” she said.
“If there is one gesture capable of humbling the ego in each of us, it is her embrace. That is what we are going to experience today: how we merge with one another through genuine compassion.”

In a deeply moving gesture, devotees with Amma España expressed gratitude to Amma for leading their efforts in relief work after the 2024 Valencia Floods. They offered her a traditional handpainted plate, which Amma received with her motherly love.
Judit Mir is a renunciate from Barcelona who has made her home in Amritapuri. She continued to share about Amma’s higher purpose to uplift her children, and for Amma, all beings in creation are her children. In the tradition of Sanatana Dharma, a Mahatma is described as one who is able to see every one in himself or herself and himself or herself in every one.

“Amma is like the philosopher’s stone, which turns lead into gold. Her touch is transformative and changes our lives. Amma’s path is subtle, it is ‘evolution,’ not revolution. She transforms everything with small changes, a little at a time, step by step, without forcing,” she said.
“Amma teaches us to accept life’s ‘limitations’ and to grow through them. We don’t have to be special at all—or rather, to Amma, each and every one of us is special; we are her beloved children.”
Judit concluded, “Amma asks for nothing. She needs nothing from us. But she will be very happy if we can give back to society, to Mother Nature, to our fellow human beings, some of our time, effort, and smiles.”
For months, the local volunteers worked hard to prepare for Amma’s three days of programs. Once over, the 1500-hundred strong team gathered with her at the MA Centre in Granollers to spend time in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The original structure was a house built in 1538, and the area is full of poplars, cypresses and cedars high on a hill overlooking the city.
Amma suddenly called one of her young devotees from Spain to sing a bhajan she composed for Amma during COVID-19. The teenage girl was at the other end of the Ashram and came running breathlessly. Together, they led Ilumina, Ilumina—Shed light, shed light, beloved Goddess. Illuminate my mind with divine light!
It was the perfect ending to a luminous time in Spain. Amma’s tour continues to Espoo, Finland. Tour schedule.
