Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi met Amma in Amritapuri on Friday evening September 16th, 2022. He was in the Kollam district as part of his Bharat Jodo Yatra and reached the Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM) around 8:30 pm.
Brahmacharis (monastic disciples) of the MAM welcomed Mr. Gandhi. He then received Amma’s blessings and met with her for about 45 minutes.
“I was indeed honoured and fortunate to meet Amma,” Mr. Gandhi said.
Mr. Gandhi later posted on his Facebook page, “Very impressed by the amazing work Amma’s organisation has done toward helping the poor and the downtrodden. Offered my humble salutations and received her warm, love-filled hug in return.”
Mr. Gandhi departed from Amritapuri at half past nine to continue his travels. He was accompanied by AICC Organization General Secretary Shri. K.C.Venugopal, K.P.C.C. President Shri. K. Sudhakaran, Leader of the Opposition Shri V.D. Satheesan, and MLAs Shri. Ramesh Chennithala, Shri. P.C. Vishnunath and Shri. C.R. Mahesh.
