Cancer Hospice - Mumbai

Cancer Hospice

In 1995, our Cancer Hospice in Mumbai opened to provide free care and spiritual solace to patients suffering from terminal cancer. Many families cannot afford the high cost of treatment, and so, the patients are considered a burden. Founded upon Amma’s love and compassion, it was established as the third such institution in India.

Until 2022, we provided specialised medical services in a facility for 50 in-patients. By lessening their intense physical and psychological suffering, they were able to leave this world with a sense of dignity.

The hospice gave support to all by including a meditation and prayer hall, residential quarters for in-house medical and nursing staff, a mortuary and a crematoriurm.

As well, a dispensary also provided impoverished families in the local community with free medicine, food, and children’s books until 2025.
