Amrita Hospital, Kochi, in partnership with the Cochin Shipyard Limited, organised a complimentary screening camp for paediatric heart conditions. The camp took place at Amrita Health Centre, Port Blair, Andaman Islands, on March 10th. The initiative was led by a team of specialised doctors from the Paediatric Cardiology Department and aimed to provide critical diagnostic evaluations for the children.

The focus was primarily on identifying and addressing congenital heart defects. The condition refers to one or more problems with the heart structure that are present at birth. About 10 out of the 35 screened children were selected to receive free treatment and surgical interventions back at Amrita Hospital in Kochi.

The camp was inaugurated by Shri Keshav Chandra, Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and the guest of honour was Dr Suja Antony, Director of Health Services, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
