AYUDH, our youth wing, was honoured to participate in a summit by the Govt of India to take action for a nation where there is no substance abuse. The Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat—Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India—was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and held in the sacred city of Varanasi.

The two-day conclave brought together youth leaders from across the country, spiritual mentors, civil society representatives, and government officials to engage in critical dialogue and plan concrete steps that will lead to a drug-free India. A unique element is including spiritual values as a basis for its vision.

AYUDH India was represented by five members from different regions: Akhilesh, Bengaluru; Dr. Anushree, Ahmedabad; Meenakshi, Delhi; Sooraj, Kerala; and Vedant, Pune. The five-member delegation actively contributed to the discussions and workshops aimed at designing community-driven substance abuse prevention.

The event culminated in the adoption of the historic Kashi Declaration—a collective pledge by youth leaders and organizations to actively support this national movement. The declaration not only laid out a roadmap for preventive education, addiction recovery initiatives, and interfaith collaboration, but also symbolized a unified moral commitment to youth wellness and national development.

As part of the summit, AYUDH representatives also participated in the cycle rally led by Union Minister of Youth Affairs, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, organized under the Fit India movement and Sundays on Cycles initiative at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus.

Notably, AYUDH was also represented in the joint press meet addressed by Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, alongside representatives of other key youth and spiritual organizations. The press interaction reinforced the government’s commitment to harnessing the energy and insight of youth movements like AYUDH in building a healthier, addiction-free nation.

As a youth movement rooted in values and service under Amma’s guidance, AYUDH pledges to actively take this vision forward—empowering young minds to lead conscious, addiction-free lives through consistent awareness and outreach, hoping to inspire others in their generation to do the same.
