AYUDH is an international youth movement inspired by Amma, dedicated to empowering young people. Our youth work to build a peaceful and sustainable world. We aspire to cultivate universal values of love, compassion, tolerance, unity and respect.

Our Goals

Globally, our projects surround the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In Europe they also align with the European Youth Goals. AYUDH offers the unique opportunity to create change locally, yet on a massive scale.

Giving a voice to young people, AYUDH has released several declarations and statements on topics such as education, sustainable development, inclusion and diversity and mental health. This has caught the attention of decision-makers from the local and the international level, including institutions of the United Nations and the European Union.

AYUDH is also a member of the annual Youth Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at the United Nations and has carried out many projects in partnership with UN bodies. Three of our projects have been awarded best practice projects by the European Commission.

What’s AYUDH stand for?

AYUDH is short for “Awaken Youth, Unite for Dharma” or the Sanskrit Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara, which has a similar meaning.

It is a Sanskrit term and means “peace”, or “without war”.

A Acceptance: Accepting all situations with a positive attitude
Y Youthfulness: Cultivating youthful optimism and energy
U Understanding: Understanding one’s strengths & weaknesses and understanding others.
D Determination: Being determined to change, by creating a change in oneself
H Humility: Instead of feeling ‘I am the boss’, thinking ‘I am a servant of society & nature”

I feel that it’s sometimes hard in today’s world to find a place where we can truly connect and feel empowered. AYUDH has been a refuge for expression, connection, and growth on so many levels. I have learned that all power resides within us and we are all entitled to make a positive change.
