C20

India held the G20 Presidency in 2023, with G20 Leaders meeting in September in Delhi. Engagement groups of non-governmental participants from each G20 country provide policy recommendations for the G20 leaders each year as part of the policy process.

The Indian government asked Amma to chair the Civil 20 engagement group (C20), comprising 16 working groups. C20 provides a platform for Civil Society Organizations from around the world to give voice to people and create policy recommendations that genuinely represent the concerns and needs of society.

Let us recognize that it is in our hands to create a world where everyone can live with dignity and lead a life of purpose and fulfillment.

What we Achieved

Under Amma's leadership and guidance, Civil 20 India reached out to the highest number of people in C20's history.

The 2023 initiatives included more than 6,000 civil society organizations from 154 countries and connecting with more than 4.5 million people worldwide through mass outreach campaigns to address health, environment, and community empowerment.

We led five of the C20 working groups. Each of these working groups held 100s of webinars, outreach initiatives, meetings, and held summits around India. They collaborated with 1000s of CSOs to create significant initiatives and policy recommendations that will have a lasting positive impact for years to come.

Explore our humanitarian work

Let us all proceed, with one mind and one goal, to work selflessly for the world's welfare. May our acts become a noble ideal for those who will come after us. May the tree of our life be firmly rooted in the soil of love. May our good actions be its leaves. May our kind words be its flowers. May peace be its fruits. May this world grow and prosper as one family, united in love. May the ethos of vasudhaiva kutumbakam—' The world is one family'—awaken, be put into practice, and bear fruit in everyone. May we realize a world where there is endless peace and harmony.
