AYUDH Chicago/MACC Food/Supply Drive
Amma says that we have a responsibility towards the needy and that it's our duty to provide them with food, care, and the light of knowledge. In that spirit, please support this year's AYUDH Chicago and MACC Food/Supply Drive. Please leave your donated items (packaged and non-perishable and new/like-new for clothing items) next to the altar in the satsang hall (on the left-hand side) by January 13. The donations will be delivered to two shelters in our area: the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry (serving those in need locally) and the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels (serving the needy in downtown Chicago). The shelters also accept some essential household items to serve the needy. Here is a list of the most needed items:
- Sugar
- Kidney Beans
- Garbanzo Beans
- Ready to Eat Soup (any kind)
- Canned veggies
- Ground Coffee
- Tea
- Boxed Potatoes (Mashed, AuGratin, Scalloped, etc.)
- Canned Chili
- Jelly
- Apple Juice
- Tomato sauce
- Laundry detergent
- Cake/brownie mix
- Paper Towels
- Tissues
- Tall Kitchen Garbage Bags
- Gallon Size Ziploc Bags
- Diapers Size 4, 5, or 6
- Disposable Razors
- Winter jackets (new or like new)
- Socks (new or like new)
- Winter gloves, hats, scarfs (new or like new)
