Mother's Kitchen

What is Mother's Kitchen

Mother's Kitchen was founded In 1996 as an Embracing the World initiative to help serve those in need in North America. The initiative started on a shoestring budget in Oakland, serving free meals to a small soup kitchen every weekday.

The idea spread and soon Mother’s Kitchens began popping up all over the map - today, Mother’s Kitchen groups across the US, Canada and Costa Rica prepare, cook and serve 150,000 meals for the homeless and hungry each year. Mother's Kitchens help existing facilities by purchasing food and supplies from donations made by sponsors and by supplying volunteers to prepare, cook and serve the meals.

Mother's Kitchen in the Greater Atlanta Area

Volunteers from M.A. Center Atlanta actively participate in various Mother's Kitchen projects. Once a month, they spend their Saturday morning preparing and serving food to the Gwinett Children's Shelter.
