Venue: MACC Café (Satsang Hall)
Time: 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Vishu is the Hindu astrological New Year celebrated in Kerala, India. Considered the first day of the Hindu astrological zodiac calendar, Vishu signifies the transit of Sun into Aries sign (Mesha Rási), usually occurring on April 14th or 15th.
There are a few other Indian states that celebrate their New Year (according to the Indian calendar) around the same period: “Baisakhi” in Punjab, “Rongali Bihu” in Assam, “Pohela Boishakh” in Bengal, “Pana Sankranti” in Odisha, “Puthandu” in Tamil Nadu, and “Bisu” in the Mangalore and Udupi districts of Karnataka.
The Satsang on Saturday, April 18th will be dedicated to celebrating these New Year days, especially Vishu, celebrated in Kerala, the native Sate of Amma.
