First year at MA Center Chicago

Elburn, a far west suburb of Chicago in Kane County in Illinois, is the home of M.A. Center Chicago. Formerly known as Broadview Academy, the current site of the M.A. Center is spread over 140 acres.

Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma) formally inaugurated this center by conducting her summer program from June 30 through July 4, 2012. Amma's grace continues to inspire M.A. Center Chicago to become the hub of Amma's charitable, educational, and spiritual activities in the Midwest.

In close affiliation with M.A. Center, California, this center will conduct regular spiritual activities, include spiritual discourses and retreats, guided meditation, yoga, and selfless service.

Amma’s initiatives such as the Amrita Bala Kendra (ABK) for children between the ages of 5 and 14 and Amrita Yuva Dharmadhara (AYUDH) for youngsters between the ages of 15 and 30 will find greater focus at the ashram. The farmland that forms part of the ashram site will engender Amma’s green initiatives. In the months and years to come, M.A. Center Chicago will herald various initiatives and ‘Embrace the World’ through Amma’s love.
