Kemp Mill Elementary - Winter Clothes Drive

Kemp Mill ES - Winter Clothes Drive
Kemp Mill ES - Winter Clothes Drive

We would like to introduce you to the students of Kemp Mill Elementary School (KMES). They are from low-income families, often recent immigrants to this country. For these reasons, many of the boys and girls are not properly prepared for winter weather.

For children waiting outside in the cold weather for the school bus, winter is about dressing properly. KMES is working with local organizations to ensure all of their children are well prepared for winter. They have requested the following new or clean/almost new items from Embracing the World.

  • Coats for boys and girls, sizes S/M, M/L, and L/XL
  • Sweatpants for boys and girls, sizes S/M, M/L, and L/XL
  • Leggings for boys and girls, sizes S/M, M/L, and L/XL

The students range in age from four to ten years old (pre-kindergarten to fifth grade).

If you would like to help with this project, kindly click here to view the needed items. Take your donation to the bin labeled “Kemp Mill Elementary School Project” at the gate of MA Center DC:

"Children, it is our duty towards God to be compassionate and loving towards the poor and needy. When somebody is suffering, we should sympathize and take pity on him. But that alone is not enough; we should be ready to help him because God is everywhere, in everything. When we develop compassion and love for ailing people, His grace will spontaneously flow into us." - Amma (Awaken Children, Volume 2, page 24)
