Power of Harmony - International Day of Yoga celebration

In honor of International Yoga Day, the MA Center  is hosting a FREE day of yoga for adults and children over age 10, to experience the power of harmony through yoga & meditation, practicing the Amrita Yoga technique and IAM Meditation. We'll have special activities and modifications to the yoga practice for kids and seniors as well as a separate children's program. 

**No registration required. Please arrive by 9:00 AM to sign in and find a place in the hall, so that we can begin the day promptly at 9:30 AM.

Schedule for the day:
9:00 am: Welcome and sign Amrita Yoga Waiver.
9:30 am: Demonstration on how to use a neti pot, followed by a discussion on yoga and fasting
10:15 am: Intro to Amrita Yoga and Asana practice
11:15 am: Guided IAM (Integrated Amrita Meditation technique) meditation practice. Chai & Snack Break
12:00 pm: Talk on a Vegetarian lifestyle and eating for yoga.
12:30 pm: Reflection Circles & Closing

Schedule for Children's Program:
10:00 am: Yoga class
10:40 am: Healthy Snacks for Kids
11:00 am: Dance
11:30 AM: Learning sanskrit letters and pronunciation for simple mantras
12:00 PM: Games with yoga poses
12:30 PM: Closing & Reflection on Amma's messages

More about International Day of Yoga:

On December 11th, 2014, the 193-member United Nations General Assembly established 21st June as the International Day of Yoga with a record 177 co-sponsoring countries. The goal of this day is to promote wider dissemination of information about the benefits of practicing Yoga for the health of the world population. Yoga also brings harmony in all walks of life and thus is known for disease prevention, health promotion and management of many lifestyle-related disorders.
