A Durga Puja is performed for the elimination of all suffering through the grace of the Divine Mother and to get rid of negative tendencies. Join us for a special New Year's Eve Durga puja performed by Br. Shantamrita Chaitanya for an auspicious start to 2020.

Sponsorship: $65/person - pre-registration is requested.

ABOUT PUJA

Puja is ritualistic worship of the Divine performed to keep us in harmony with cosmic forces, thereby removing and overcoming the sorrows of life and bringing spiritual upliftment. By doing puja, thoughts and vibrations of spiritual forces are created around us. These spiritual forces work to eliminate the negative influences in our life and help surround us with positive energy which can bring us peace of mind, material prosperity, and enable us to more clearly touch the Divine, our true nature.

After the Durga puja, ring in the new year with your Amma community at MA Center Chicago. Join us from 4:00 pm to midnight on Dec. 31st for our New Year's festivities with Br. Shantamrita Chaitanya. Here's the schedule for our New Year's Eve Satsang:

4:00-6:00 pm - Durga Puja (pre-registration required; see above)
6:00-7:00 pm - Archana
7:00-7:45 pm - Special New Year's Eve Satsang by Swamiji
7:45-8:15 pm - Bhajans w/Swamiji
8:15-8:45 pm - Arati, Meditation and Prasadam
8:45-9:30 pm - Dinner

9:30–10:30 pm - Lalita Sahasranāmam
10:30-10:45 pm - Mahishāsuramardini Stotram
10:45-10:55 pm - Tea Break
10:55-11:55 pm - Bhajans w/Swamiji
11:55-12:05 pm - Chanting of Lokha Samasta
12:05-12:10 pm - Final Bhajan by Swamiji

*Note: On Fridays, if Br. Shantamrita Chaitanya is at MA Center Chicago, we typically have a Bhagavad Gita class with him instead of daily bhajans. On Saturdays, bhajans and group meditation are part of the regular Saturday program.
