Amma's 2019 visit to Atlanta, GA

Atlanta
June 28-29

Amma’s sixth stop on the North American tour took place at the Hilton Atlanta, centrally located in downtown Atlanta. On the first day, several dignitaries honored Amma during a short stage function after the morning meditation. The Consul General of India, Atlanta Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni, spoke a few words on the occasion: “Amma, your life is an example of the concept ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’–– ‘the whole world is one family'. For you meditation is as precious as gold and compassion is the fragrance of your life. We are so blessed that you have made the South East a part of your itinerary. Thank you Amma.”

Various dignitaries welcomed Amma, thanking her for adding the Southeastern stop to her tour. These included Consul General Dr. Swathi Kulkarni, the US Ambassador to Sweden; Gregory Newell, Chairman & CEO of the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce, Dr. K.V. Kumar, Dean of Emory University School of Medicine; Dr. Vikas Sukhatme, and community leader and businessman Mr. Narender Reddy.
Amma’s first MA Center, in San Ramon, has turned into 11 around the country. We are lucky to have one here” said Dr. Kulkarni referring to the MA Center Atlanta in Cumming, which has been working hard to put Amma’s message of selfless service and compassion into action.
In her talk, Amma told the devotees, “Happiness comes not from the external world, but from within. The path for achieving this is spirituality.”
