M.A. Center New England

Tube Socks for the Homeless

The homeless suffer in a multitude of ways including being vulnerable to the elements especially in cold weather. These individuals are in need of protecting their feet. Socks are the number one requested clothes item of individuals experiencing homelessness.

Last year, MA Center New England donated a record 1,182 pairs of socks!

Throughout the remainder of the Winter and into the Spring, we will be collecting donations. Pranata will be purchasing socks with the monetary donations and dropping them off at Amos House Shelter in Providence Rhode Island. Amos House serves men, women, and children providing comprehensive case management services, food, and shelter.

How to Donate

  • Please do not bring socks to satsang gatherings as we have no means for storing them.
  • It is preferred that donations are made by check. Checks are made out to “MA Center New England” noting “socks for homeless” on the memo line.
  • Checks can be either given to Hemanth during satsang or mailed to:

Attention: socks for the homeless

For the month of March, all donations will be matched!  Amma has said, “Go out and serve the suffering. Learn to place others in front of yourself.” Recognizing the suffering of the homeless and donating socks becomes a devotional practice that is enlivened by Amma’s Grace.

Thank you for helping Amma’s children.
