FMSC is a non-profit organization committed to feeding children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children; and the meal packets get shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world. FMSC has developed a food mixture that is easy and safe to transport, simple to make with just adding boiling water, and culturally acceptable worldwide.

The MACC group comprised of ABK (Amrita Bala Kendra) and AYUDH (Amrita Yuva Dharmadhara) members, along with parents and other individuals. The group was organized into teams manning multiple packing stations. Each team was tasked with mixing the dry food and vitamins according to pre-set standards, weighing (to ensure consistency), packing, and boxing for shipment. FMSC made this a fun experience by organizing groups into countries to which they donate – and our group had a lot of fun.

Our session at FMSC also included a few non-MACC volunteers. Together, the entire group succeeded in packing –in a span of two hours- 108 boxes which contained 2,328 meals, enough to feed 64 children for a year. These boxes were to be part of a shipment going to needy children in the Caribbean island nation of Jamaica.

We recognize the efforts by our ABK and AYUDH coordinators in organizing this event, as well as parents and other individuals who represented MACC at FMSC. Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who participated in this event and took a small step to make Amma’s vision a reality.

Amma teaches that; “Service to mankind is service to God”. Our small effort at FMSC illustrated this teaching. We at MACC are looking forward to working with FMSC and similar organizations in bigger and better ways in the future. This aligns well with Amma’s vision for ‘Embracing the World’ and supporting local and global communities.
