A wonderful service Amma inspired began called "litter clean up".

This is what was said at our last clean up:

Our work party was truly an Amma's lesson camouflaged by litter!  Rallying up our children to clean the streets was not an easy task. Our children didn't want to be out in the cold, didn't want to pick up "anything gross" and our 12 year old son had a friend over for a sleep over. However, we made them breakfast to go and forced them into the van!  On our way we listened to Amma bhajans, picked up a friend and devotee, and smiled all the way to the site.  As soon as we hit the road on our journey the sunshine came out. It was Amma giving us some support to cheer up our grumpy kiddo's!

Piling out of our van and into our circle of friends felt so good. As soon as we did our kids snapped into action. They got excited about putting the gloves on and they each grabbed their bag with pride. Then off they went like little scavengers on a treasure hunt. They worked together as a team and had so much fun!  They filled their bags with in 10 minutes.  Then they huddled together comparing. Showing us their findings. They worked as a real team, the bigger kids mentoring the younger kids. They got right to work on their second garbage bag and still all smiles. My husband and I took great pride in watching our children, Amma's Children serve Mother, our city, and strengthen their bond. Jeremy was in Amma heaven.  He felt so close to Her and felt so blessed to be serving Amma and so thankful to be given the opportunity to serve our community as well.

The kids felt so proud of them selves. They were cleaning on the side of the freeway and people kept thanking them for their hard work. I heard everyone say several times say "wow I never noticed how much garbage there was till I actually looked"!!  So cool. I was so happy that their eyes were opening. Amma has given them the tools to be a better generation to our planet.

It's all love, all thanks, and all Amma, Jai Ma!!
