AYUDH Shoe Drive for Kerala Flood Relief

Kerala Flood Relief
Kerala Flood Relief

After being hit with the worst floods in a century, the state of Kerala has been struggling to rebuild itself. Over 400 hundred people have died, and over a million have had to abandon their homes and rescue shelters are being filled beyond capacity.

DC is raising funds to help aid in flood relief with a shoe-drive in partnership with Fund2Orgs.

The organization sends the old shoes to struggling businesses in developing companies and sends back money to donate in return.

Please donate gently worn, used and new shoes to help the cause.

Shoes will be collected during Krishna Jayanthi Celebrations on September 2nd at the Krishnan’s.  (details below)

There will be a bin next to the front door for you to drop off your shoes.

If you would like to donate directly towards relief, please do so by clicking here, and selecting 'Kerala Flood Relief' in the drop-down menu. Please try your best to spread the news!

What is  AYUDH?

AYUDH stands for Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara, a Sanskrit term which means “the youth which perpetuates the wheel of dharma (righteousness)”. In Sanskrit AYUDH also means Peace, which is symbolized by the dove in the logo.

AYUDH seeks to empower the youth to integrate universal values into their daily lives. Starting with themselves, AYUDH helps establish a future of hope, peace and social engagement while maintaining an awareness of spiritual principles.

AYUDH is active in various North American, European, Asian, Australian and African countries. AYUDH DC is one such branch of this global tree. Please join us in this movement of peace and harmony, and let us work together towards a better tomorrow

With over 20 chapters across the Americas, our AYUDH Americas youth create, design, and implement comprehensive initiatives towards building a sustainable future.  We do this by creating compassionate leaders with a sense of tolerance, solidarity and global responsibility.  AYUDH Americas is the youth movement of Embracing the World, an international non-governmental organization  with consultative status to the United Nations that was founded by Amma.
