Tarpanam Puja for Departed Ancestors
Honoring our Departed Ancestors through Tarpanam on Karkidaka Vavu Bali.
"Through this ritual we are showing our respect, our gratitude, towards our departed ancestors. Giving verbal thanks only remains as words and does not get translated into action. By partaking in this ritual, we are performing action - spending some time for others, spending money for them and chanting mantras. We therefore get purified, creating positive vibrations." - Amma
Pujas performed on the day of Vavi Bali will benefit and appease deceased family members, regardless of when they passed away. On this day, the MA Center will be conducting a Tarpanam ceremony to pay homage to departed ancestors. This participatory ceremony will be led by a devotee.
'Tarpanam' is a traditional ritual where oblations are offered to departed ancestors. The ceremony will include a guided participatory puja, (each participant will have their own individual puja setting) and chanting.
