Toy Drive by ABK of M.A. Center Chicago

WE DID IT! Successful TOY DRIVE BY AMRITA BALA KENDRA (CHILDRENS PROGRAM) OF MA CENTER CHICAGO

For this holiday season, our Amrita Bala Kendra (ABK) kids decided to embark on a toy drive under the MA Center Chicago banner. They collected 85 toys and 5 books, with generous support from all our MACC members. This toy drive was to support the U.S. Marine Corps TOYS FOR TOTS Foundation.

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve - Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Their stated goal is to "deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens." As you know, ABK is a tool Amma has provided to coach today’s youth to grow into good citizens and positive contributors to society. One of the main objectives of this program is to teach values of life to the kids by getting them involved in activities that would serve the community. The ABK children were so excited to do this project by embracing the values Amma teaches us: the value of Compassion, Giving, Caring, Respect, and Appreciation for others.
