May 27: Farming Seva

Group of volunteers planting veggie garden

Veggie Garden Planted!

Our beloved Amma blessed us with three glorious days of vegetable planting!  A big heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who came in different shifts, and planted a variety of veggies: tomatoes, Swiss chard, onions, kale, eggplant, poi (Malabar spinach), zucchini, potatoes, and much more.  An awesome lunch was provided by some devotees. Bhajans played as devotees lovingly worked the soil and planted the veggies. On Saturday, a curious deer came over to join in the fun!

Farm Seva This Saturday

Volunteers are needed this Saturday for a variety of Farm sevas: grass cutting, spreading the soil in the pool area behind the Red House, and setting up the drip irrigation system in the vegetable garden. (There will be no seva in the orchard this weekend.) Farming activities will run this Saturday, May 27 from 10 Am - 3 Pm. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Don’t forget to bring a cap, water bottle and sunscreen! A light lunch will be served. Please let us know by Friday, May 26 in the morning if you will be attending by signing up with the Sign Up Genius. For more info or to reach the Farm Team, email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org.
