April 6: Farming Update - Spring Pruning

Amma Canada barns and field of daisies

Welcome back to the Farm!

Happy Spring, Everyone! Greetings from the Farm Team! With the sun gradually gaining strength and with the re-opening of the Farm to volunteers, the Farm Team can once again welcome you. Many seva opportunities await in the months to come!

The orchard team is currently looking for volunteers to assist with the pruning of the apple and pear trees. This activity is very important to maintain the health of the orchards.

Are you interested in helping with pruning? Opportunities are available on Saturdays throughout the month of April. As the farm has only four clippers, we will be setting up a morning and an afternoon shift for this seva. The morning shift will run from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday and the afternoon shift from 1 pm to 3 pm (weather permitting).

If you are able to help out with this seva either by volunteering for pruning or by loaning us an additional set of clippers, we would love to hear from you. Please let us know which shift you are interested in doing. Please contact ammatoronto@ammagroups.org prior to arriving at the farm as we are limited by the number of clippers available.

We ask that you bring your own gardening gloves and own snacks.  At present communal meals are not permitted, so we have to arrange to eat our snacks separately. If you have questions or would like more information, please email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org. Thank you!
