Pacific Northwest Retreat

Two people singing Bhajans at the altar

The Pacific Northwest Retreat took place at Camp Pringle located on beautiful Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island. The retreat started on February 14 with more people arriving the next day. There were about 100 people present for Swami Dyamrita's visit on February 15. We were so delighted to have Swami with us. He answered our questions in an extended question and answer period then led the 108 and 1000 names and uplifting bhajans, then served us dinner. On the Sunday morning he led us in Archana before needing to leave for his next destination. We are so grateful for this time with him.

We are also grateful to all those who worked so hard to make this retreat the special event that it was. We had wonderful food cooked on site, well organized registration, fantastic lodgings near the lake - many rooms had a beautiful lake views, a snack shop with amazing chai and delicious snacks, a dance class, guided walks, a group heart opening session, yoga classes, bird house construction and a raffle - with funds raised for the Pacific Northwest Centre. The retreat ended with a few stalwart souls completing the tidy-up - last but definately not least! There were activities for all, but perhaps the best activity was having the chance to gather together and share our joy.

Plans are already underway to host the 2015 Pacific Northwest Retreat at beautiful Loon Lake located near Vancouver, B.C.  We hope to see everyone there!
