Quest Food Exchange
The lower mainland has the second highest poverty rate in Canada.
Once a month, our group gathers at Quest Food Exchange to package donated food, so that it can be provided to those in need. In 2015 Quest had $8,701,058 in food and products donated and 870,105 lbs of food and products rescued. This surplus food is donated from local wholesalers, restaurants, supermarkets and farmers. The food is sorted at the the Quest warehouse and then either sold at Quest's low-cost grocery markets or delivered to other community meal programs. This program also protects the environment as the food that is rescued by Quest does not end up in the landfill.
We welcome you to join our Amma group by volunteering your time at Quest sorting/re-packaging food in the warehouse.
Quest has asked that volunteers please wear closed toed shoes with a good grip and please note that tank tops are not permitted. Photographs in the store are not allowed.
