Welcome to the Philadelphia Satsang

The Amma Philadelphia Satsang meets on the last Sunday of the month at the Groff residence in Bala Cynwyd. We come together to share the afternoon with prayer, song, service, food and community. The day is an opportunity to honor the teachings and example of Amma as well as appreciate one another.   Beginning with the chanting of Amma's 108 names, we proceed to share a reading from Amma's teachings and sing bhajans — devotional songs. Afterward, we enjoy a vegetarian potluck dinner and watch a video of Amma.

Periodically, we host special programs in our area with Amma's senior deciples. Some prime examples of past events include Satsangs with Br. Dayamrita Chaitanya, Swami Ramakrishnananda, and Br. Ramanand. In April, Br. Rema Devi led us in Bhagavati Seva Puja — a prayer for world peace.

Our Seva projects include preparing and serving meals at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, as well as assisting with parties for disatavantaged children through Rubye's Kids. Each year we work with the M.A. Center of Washington DC in preparation for Amma's D.C. summer programs.
