Amrita Yoga Sadhana for Beginners - Limited to 35 participants

This retreat is ideal for first time practitioners and beginners in yoga. It is an introduction to Amrita Yoga as a sadhana with unique tools, basic asanas, use  of breath, and synchronizing mantras, thus creating a safe, nurturing and empowering experience.

Emphasis is on the foundation of traditional asana and pranayama practices. This includes – introductory session, three asana sessions, meditations, and talks on yoga and yogic diet. 

Participants can gather practical strategies to help develop their skills in yoga and meditation and how to be of service to the world. On completion of the retreat, participants will be familiar with "Bala Namaskarah", a heart-centered simple daily practice sequence.

Attendees will learn a sequence that they can use in their own personal practice. A handout of the sequence will be given at the end of the retreat.

Cost - $80 without accommodation  (incl. lunch on Saturday and Sunday). 

Schedule
Day 1:
·       8:30 AM - 9:00 AM: Registration / chai
·       9:00 AM - Lamp lighting & 108 names 
·       9:30 AM -   Orientation and Introduction to Amrita Yoga
·       10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Asana class 1 and meditation
.       12:00 PM - 12:15 PM - Break
·       12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Yoga Talk
.       1:00 PM - Lunch (End of Day 1)
(Optional attendance- 4:45pm – 8:30 pm : Saturday evening program and bhajans)

Day 2:
·       10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: 108 names
·       10:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Asana class 2, including short meditation
·       12:30 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch
·       1:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Free time/Walking meditation in nature (optional)
·       1:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Chai
·       2:00 PM - 2:45 PM: Review handout and Q & A
·       2:45 PM - 3:30 PM: Talk on Yogic diet
·       3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Asana class 
·       4:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Handout review, feedback forms and closing prayers

*No onsite overnight accommodations are available.
