This retreat is ideal for first time practitioners and beginners in yoga. It is an introduction to Amrita Yoga as a sadhana with unique tools, basic asanas, use  of breath, and synchronizing mantras, thus creating a safe, nurturing and empowering experience.

Emphasis is on the foundation of traditional asana and pranayama practices. This includes – opening puja, introductory session, three asana sessions, meditations, and a class on yoga philosophy.

Participants can gather practical strategies to help develop their skills in yoga and meditation and how to be of service to the world. On completion of the retreat, participants will be familiar with "Bala Namaskarah", a heart-centered simple daily practice sequence.

Attendees will learn a sequence that they can use in their own personal practice. A handout of the sequence will be given at the end of the retreat.

Cost - $80 without accommodation  (incl. lunch on Saturday and Sunday)- Registration is closed.

Schedule
Day 1:
·       8:30 AM - 9:00 AM: Registration / chai
·       9:00 AM - Lamp lighting & Manasa Puja
·       9:30 AM -   Introduction to Amrita Yoga - talk
·       10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Asana class 1 and meditation
·       12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Talk on Yogic diet (Sarada Von Sonn Ayurveda practitioner)
.       1:00 PM - Lunch (End of Day 1)
(Optional attendance- 4:45pm – 8:30 pm : Saturday evening program and bhajans)

Day 2:
·       10:00 AM -10:30 AM: 108 names of Divine Mother, Manasa Puja
·       10:30 AM -12:30 PM: Asana class 2, including short meditation
·       12:30 PM -1:00 PM: Lunch
·       1:00 PM -1:30 PM: Walking meditation in nature (optional)
·       1:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Chai
·       2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Satsang - Yoga Philosophy (Br. Dayamrita Chaitanya)
·       3:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Asana class 3, including short meditation
·       5:00 PM - 5:15 PM: Juice and water break
·       5:15 PM - 6:00 PM: Handouts review, feedback forms, and closing
