Tube Socks for the Homeless

Socks for the Homeless

The MAC New England has begun the 2019/2020 Tube Socks for the Homeless Embracing the World Project. Now in its 5th year, our goal is to donate over 500 pairs of socks by the end of April, 2020. Please note: For the month of December 2019, all monetary donations will be matched!

The homeless suffer in a multitude of ways including being vulnerable to the elements especially in cold and wet weather. These individuals are in need of protecting their feet. We will be donating new tube socks to Amos House homeless shelter located in Providence, Rhode Island. Amos House manages the largest soup kitchen in the state, provides social services to over 15,000 people a year and housing nearly 165 men, women and children a night.

There are a number of ways you can donate:

Purchase white tube socks and leave them in the designated blue bin located in the back porch of the Ashram. You can purchase packages of white tube socks at big box stores. Alternatively, there are listings for tube socks on Amazon or DollarDays.

Donate a check made out to “MAC New England” and note “Socks for Homeless” on the memo line of the checks. Please give the check to Krishna. Or, you can mail the check to:

MA Center New England
245 Linden Street
Boylston, MA 01505
Attention: Socks for the Homeless

Cash donations are given to Pranata at satsang.

Pranata will purchase socks with the monetary donations. Don’t forget that monetary donations, cash or check, are matched during December!

Thank you for helping Amma’s children.
