Welcome to the Austin Satsang

Amma's Austin Children, meeting twice a month for spiritual practice, singing and community sharing.

We meet twice a month for spiritual practice. We begin with opening prayers, chant 108 Names of the Divine Mother, then listen to a reading from an Amma book. After that, we sing bhajans - devotional songs. After singing, we perform arati - waving a flame before Amma's altar - and end with closing prayers and a brief, silent meditation. After satsang, we usually share some snacks offered by the host family, or brought as part of a pot luck.

Satsang in Austin is fairly casual. A typical gathering may be as small as 5 people or as many as 25. Children and newcomers are always welcome! Write to Suresh Hariharan for directions, or join our Google Group. If you are new, please let us know and feel welcome to ask questions.

Many of us also work together to assist with Amma's South Central Program held each summer in Dallas, Texas. Volunteers are always needed, and there is lots to do!

Please join our Google Group for the most accurate and detailed information, including directions to satsang.
We also have a Facebook Page to share information.
